GRE COMPARISION QUESTION OF THE DAY

{a,b} represents the remainder when a divided by b.
c and d are positive integers with c>d.
Col A- {c,d}
Col B- {d,c}
A) if the quantity in column A is greater.
B) if the quantity in column B is greater.
C) if the quantities are equal.
D) if the relationship cannot be determined from the information given.

b is the answer
bcz when we divide a small no. to a larger no.(here d is divided by c) the remaider is the smaller no. so for d/c remainder is d bcz c>d
but for c/d remainder is less than d

A is correct ans. as here both the integers are positive and when bigger one i.e. c is devided by smaaler one d i.e. c/d it gives a bigger no

{6,5}=1
{5,6}=5

Since c>d so :
{c,d}is less than d
{d,c}=d is greater than {c,d}
so answer is B
