probabity of hiting the target =1/4.
therefore prob of not hiting the target =(1-1/4)=3/4.
now,4 cases r possible:-
case.1>he shoots the aim in the first attempt.
case.2>he misses the aim in the first attempt but hits it in the second attempt.
case.3>he misses the aim in the first and second attempt but hits the target in the third attempt.
case.4>he misses the aim in the first second & third attempt but hits the target in the fourth one.
hence,
prob of hitting the target=((1/4)+(3/4*1/4)+(3/4*3/4*1/4)+(3/4*3/4*3/4*1/4))
=>175/216.ans
