Suppose five circles, each 4 inches in diameter, are cut from a rectangular strip of paper 12 inches
long. If the least amount of paper is to be wasted, what is the width of the paper strip?

    It should be 4 + 2 + root3. i wonder if option b is a printing mistake (or publishing mistake)...

    hey if it is 4+2root3 the ans wouldbe 16 and see the option d given 4(1+3) as its also =16 so i think its not 4+2root3.and can u explain how u got 8 as the answer ie c?

    B is logically correct 4(1+3)=16
