Answer is 56 .

When Richard is the only one who is traveling then distance traveled by him in 1 hour =60*1= 60 Miles.

thus , distance between Richard and Steve becomes 200-60=140 Miles.

Now since they have to meet at a certain point theefore, time taken by them to travel the distance should be the same.

-> let distance traveled by Richard be x
-> distance traveled by Steve =140-x.

since they take equal time ->

x/60=140-x/40

->x = 84

-> distance traveled by Steve =140-84= 56.
