"GEOMETRY QUESTION OF THE DAY"
A unit square is circumscribed about a circle. If the circumference of the circle is qπ, what is the value of q? (A) 1 (B) 2 (C) π (D) 2π (E) 5π
since the square is circumscribing the circle its sides touches the circle and hence circles diameter should be equal to the side of the square = 1 units..hence 2 r = 1 units that is q =1
A. guys the unit square is circumscribed about the circle thus it means that the circle lies inside the circle -> diameter of the circle= side of the square = 1.
i think answer should be root 2 .. but its choice is not there ...
ReplyDeletethis is exp..
since side of square is 1, its diagnoal would be root 2, which would be diameter of circle ...
so q=diagnol=root 2
the answer is one 1 i think coz side is one so dia is one then radius is o.5 ...so on
ReplyDeletesince the sqr is unit tha radious of o'le is 0.5.perimeter=2pi*r=pi*q so 2r=q=2*0.5=1
